This is a publication rooted in Growth, Creation, and Service. It’s Jan 3rd, 2025, the first Friday of the year. I’m here to share the intent of this digital space with you.
Simply put, New Post Every Friday is the hard schedule for this community. Most weeks should have a paired video post over on the Flow Creators YouTube channel.
I have one goal for this year and it’s building a consistent rhythm of content output. Seems pretty straightforward but this is The Real Work that needs to take place in order to realize my community vision to find like-minded, Seekers, Synthesizers, & Builders.
A New Year, A New Beginning
I’ve been putting off this work for years, moving into 2025 this “9 Energy” year I am ready to end this negative cycle of avoidance.
I’ve experimented with ALL of the Community Platforms, Creator Systems, & Productivity Tools you could possibly imagine, but not actually publishing my research and letting it reach the right people I’m ready to share.
I realize Substack is a great home to consolidate the communities for Flow Creators Academy AND the Mentor Synthesis Brand without overthinking other aspects like courses, forums, or having multiple platforms. Both brands fall under “The Flow Creators Organization” Which is the culmination of my life’s work.
Thank you for being here. :)
The Mission
Flow Creators is a lifestyle design movement dedicated to empowering creators at every stage of their evolution. We aim to help you align with your truth, harness your creative potential, and share it with the world. Here’s the rough structure:
I. The Academy
Designed for Beginner to Intermediate Level Creators
This “blog format” doesn’t take itself too seriously. I am here to serve & guide Gen Z creators who feel they may be wasting their potential on chronic addictions to things like video games or have yet to take control of their lives.
Here I share life wisdom, stories, and workflows from my experiences — Since 2018 I’ve been dreaming about building this resource hub, and now the vision has evolved into so much more.
Brand-building workshops, degen humor, guided meditations, live streams, creative workflows, tool stacks, and systems to help seekers and early-stage creators thrive. It’s the resource I wish I had when I dropped out of college to pursue a self-employed creative lifestyle after realizing how much of a “scam” college can be. I also already had my dream job straight out of high school and even after this point in my life managed to devolve into degeneracy.
In summary, it focuses on the foundational aspects of self-discovery, self-regulation, digital effectiveness, and systems for holistic evolution.
In this community, I like to use 3 systems to empower my students.
Numerology: Life Path Number, to Understand Where You Excell Naturally
Human Design: Insights to Your Unique Gifts and Active Energy Centers
Chinese Zodiac Sign: For Navigating Relationships & Aligned Action
You will be able to self-assign these as roles in our discord server soon.
II. Mentor Synthesis:
The newest addition to the Org, yet inspired the theme of this community.
This is a social theme page where I can remix and curate some of the best wisdom I find floating in the collective. Messages I believe need to be spread, repeated, and synthesized. I plan to make this my Podcast I think this would be the best approach to position myself to get high-quality guests on the podcast even at earlier stages of development.
Since I get to position all my guests as mentors and I get to synthesize their greatest lessons it’s a win for both parties. Starting out I’ll probably do solo episodes where I share wisdom from my favorite mentors and mental models, dive into advanced spiritual concepts, and dissect more advanced business concepts.
It’s a space for those who’ve discovered their truth and are ready to synthesize it into meaningful work and expand their reality. I facilitate a space where those in the community can get involved in picking a mentor each week to study.
In Summary, it is my Podcast, Synthesizer Club, and Content Aggregation Theme Page Until I start producing fully original content for it. Mentor Synthesis
III. Synthesizer Society:
I like to think of this like the White Lotus Group from The Last Airbender. A group of awakened masters honing their skills and using their gifts in service of the collective.
The main feed of this publication. General Community Updates like this. Discussions, Feedback, and Creative Prompts utilize Substack’s “Threads” feature often to keep this community active and engaged.
(It’s like a broadcast channel on IG or Telegram except everyone can reply to each other in the threads, like and comment on the posts as if it were a regular feed post. It’s pretty cool how Substack does this.)
The Values of this Community Align with both the Academy & The Collective so this is where I can speak to both the intermediate & advanced audiences that I am building.
Social Presence
I’ve recently switched almost all my handles from @dantoruno → @flowcreators to embody my life’s purpose. If you search “Flow Creators” anywhere, you should be able to find me. → Mentor Synthesis I’ve got on Instagram, YouTube, & Twitter.
Here’s a sneak peek of how I intend to support creators like yourself this year. (Any platforms inside a “•“ bullet I am not giving my direct energy to)
Instagram:
My Main Focus. This platform will be on easy mode for a little bit longer.
I’ve always liked this platform and it has the highest conversion rates for newsletters and link clicks thanks to the ManyChat comment automation. So this will be the main focus of my shortform output.
X: The only reason X is relevant to me is that I want to create “Screenshotted Threads Post Carousels” for IG/TT that will also be served to audiences as reels for extra reach. Connecting with people on that X via DM & Spaces is also cool to me but I’ve never really been a huge Twitter user.
TikTok: Instagram Junior will be reposting my reels here. Once I hit 1K followers here, I’d like to do some livestreams.
Twitch: I do have a Twitch you can follow, but I feel like it may be more effective for me to stream on YT/TT. Not gaming, but probably more creative or Q&A sessions where I help creators with their problems live. Maybe some “Omegle” convos. (Will likely multistream when I get there.)
Pinterest: Just repurposing my content there. No real strategy, just taking advantage of the generous reach/SEO on there, the ability to get discovered by creatives.
YouTube:
I’m excited for this.
I’ve built an insane streaming/recording workflow that allows me to switch angles, split/share screens, and pause videos mid-recording so I can record complete videos in one take with little to no editing required to publish. I’ve been preparing this to create educational content for the academy, so my YouTube strategy is recording one-take videos talking about topics that I’m passionate about that serve creators.
I will be ironing out which topics I enjoy talking about most from experiments here and within the society here.
This channel has been rebranded from my old gaming channel “Snoo.” I liked how the energetics aligned with the Academy's mission.
I can also see myself reposting some of my medium-form videos to Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and potentially Threads
Threads:
Memes, lots of memes.
Still a young platform, so lots of organic discoverability that is tied to your Instagram growth. Win-win. I plan to treat this platform like a public journal, sharing mini logs from my life, image posts including hella memes, and experimental posts.
Shoutout to this really cool Threads creator Lennox Saint who’s got a really neat Threads-focused Skool Community. If you want to grow on Threads you’ve got to get involved over there and build a strong network.
Discord
I’ve been doing a lot of world-building for the theme of this server!
It’s been out for almost a year now, and has almost 50 members, but I want to really put some love into the onboarding process, and roles, and simplify the current state of the channels. You can join it now, but I suggest waiting until I release an update here in the society about it.
Tools In Starting Lineup 2025
The most relevant tools in my workflow going into the year
Notion: Template Inspo, Daily Flow Rituals, Content (& Notion) Calendar, Coaching CRM, Community Template Building/Management, Resource Hub.
Workflowy: Primary Real-Time Journaling, Notetaking, & Thinking Tool (modified interstitial journaling, planning to document this workflow soon)
CapCut: I’m an Adobe veteran but I am experimenting with a CapCut/Davinci/AfterEffects workflow but this is subject to change.
Boardmix: My Whiteboarding Tool. The Miro Replacement for Digital Education that you can purchase once instead of paying for a subscription.
Linkilla: My secret weapon for branded domain links. Also, an LTD that I paid about $48 one time for instead of a $15/mo Rebrandly subscription.
Microsoft Edge: Don’t @ me. I will change your mind about this. It’s the best browser that exists and I will explain why in a post coming soon. Arc can suck it.
Cosmos: My favorite tool for saving all types of inspiration quickly from anywhere. Speaks to my soul as an artist with how beautiful the UI/UX is.
There are of course other tools in my workflow but these are the ones I deem worthy of mention. I’ll go ahead and mention my AI tools for good measure.
AI Tool Stack: Surprisingly consists of all free tools. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Merlin AI (Extension), NotebookLM, Lex.page, Leonardo. I use almost all of these daily. I will for sure be visiting these in further detail in a future post.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. Let’s make 2025 a year of Being, Doing, and Becoming. Until next Friday, Keep Growing, Stay Flowing.
Ex Animo,
— Dan Toruno
